The Freedom I Feel

It has been more than a year
since I walked out of the fog.
More than a year
since I stopped surviving
and began returning—
to myself.
Only now
can I say it fully:
my mind is clearer,
my body lighter,
my spirit whole.
And today—
the freedom I feel
is priceless.
Freedom to stand alone,
and not feel lonely.
Freedom to work for myself,
to be my own boss,
to shape my own days.
Freedom to think
without fear.
Freedom to choose,
to take decisions
that honor my truth.
Freedom to love myself
without apology.
Freedom, even,
to be indifferent—
to no longer carry
what was never mine.
Most of all,
freedom to believe
that I am worthy.
Worthy of living a life
not just of survival,
but of beauty.
Worthy of joy
that stays.
And this feeling—
this sacred freedom—
is worth more
than all the money in the world.
It is the treasure I dug for.
The prize I never stop holding.
The quiet truth
that I am finally
home in myself.
“Freedom is not given, it is reclaimed—
and once it lives in you, it is beyond price.”
I am Gina Muresan
